First, let me say THANK YOU for the overwhelming response to our Terrarium Workshop. What an AMAZING way to kick off the 2012 Seminar Series! Although that workshop is sold out, we have a lot more to offer in the months ahead!

Penn Hills Lawn & Garden is proud to introduce Mindy Schwartz, owner of Garden Dreams Urban Farm & Nursery. With a growing concern for living a sustainable life, Mindy will come and share her story and her vision to teach everyone how to grow their own food, minimize waste, and conserve energy. Her farm is certified organic, and she grows several varieties of tomatoes, peppers, onions, eggplant, herbs, and more! She will share some fun facts and tips about growing unusual varieties of tomatoes, and will give you a peek at what you can do to get started with a garden of your own. Admission is just $5! Bring your imagination to Penn Hills Lawn & Garden for a Fairy Garden Workshop.

Fairy Gardens have become quite popular in gardening! These miniature gardens are planted in containers and filled with whimsical items to add a feeling of magic. For centuries people have been fascinated with fairies and the idea that these beautiful creatures can bring good luck in your home and garden. While evidence of the existence of fairies is slim, adding fairies to our own garden is a way of bringing back a centuries old tradition to bring good fortune your way. Not to mention, making them is A LOT of fun; especially when the weather isn't warm enough yet to go outside and play in the dirt!

Join us to make your very own fairy garden! You will receive:
